Vanessa Padilla on Building Trust, Communication, and Care Through Direct Primary Care

At Maple Health Direct Primary Care, we believe that exceptional healthcare starts with a strong, compassionate team. One of the key members who helps make our practice feel like home is Vanessa, our dedicated Office Manager. Her personal experience, deep roots in the community, and commitment to patient care embody everything we value at Maple Health. We recently sat down with Vanessa to learn more about her journey and what makes working in the DPC model so meaningful.

A Rewarding Shift in Healthcare

Vanessa describes her experience working with the Direct Primary Care model as a refreshing and fulfilling change from traditional healthcare settings.

“My experience working at Maple Health DPC has been incredibly rewarding,” she shares. “One of the aspects I appreciate most is the ability to communicate effectively with patients without the pressure of being rushed.”

She explains that the DPC model allows for meaningful, unhurried visits where patients feel truly heard and supported. Compared to other systems she’s worked in, the difference is night and day.

A Personal Mission to Bridge the Gap

Vanessa’s ability to speak Spanish fluently is more than a skill—it’s a mission rooted in her own life experience.

“Growing up, there was often a language barrier between my parents and their healthcare providers,” she recalls. “Being the one to translate during their medical appointments made me deeply aware of the importance of clear communication in healthcare.”

Now, as a part of the Maple Health team, she’s proud to help Spanish-speaking patients feel at ease, understood, and cared for—just as she wished for her own family years ago.

Time That Truly Matters

Thanks to the low patient-to-provider ratio at Maple Health, Vanessa and her team are able to provide an exceptional level of personalized care.

“Our low patient-to-provider ratio is one of the best aspects of our care model,” she says. “With hour-long appointments, we’re able to provide thorough, personalized care without feeling rushed.”

This intentional structure not only benefits patients—it allows Vanessa to manage both administrative and operational duties efficiently, keeping the clinic running smoothly.

Proud to Serve Her Hometown

As a Painesville native, Vanessa’s work holds special meaning.

“I truly love what I do and take great pride in knowing that I’m making a meaningful impact in the community,” she says.

Whether serving long-time neighbors or new faces from surrounding cities, Vanessa is proud to help bring high-quality, accessible care to the region she calls home.

Balance, Both Personal and Professional

Vanessa says that Maple Health has helped her find something rare in healthcare: true work-life balance.

“The hour-long appointment structure not only upgrades the quality of care we provide, but also allows me to complete my responsibilities during the workday,” she explains.

“I’m able to go home with peace of mind and spend time with my fiancé, family, and dog without the stress.”

Grateful for Every Day

Reflecting on her time at Maple Health, Vanessa says it's the people—both patients and team members—that make each day something special.

“As the Office Manager, I take great pride in ensuring our patients are satisfied and well cared for,” she shares. “Every day at Maple Health is a great day, and I’m truly grateful to work alongside such dedicated coworkers and wonderful patients.”

Vanessa’s story is a true reflection of what makes Maple Health DPC so special - personalized care, strong community roots, and a genuine commitment to making patients feel seen, heard, and supported. Her dedication to both the clinical and human side of healthcare is felt by everyone who walks through our doors. We’re proud to have her on our team and even prouder to serve our community with the kind of care that truly makes a difference.
